July is the time to start giving thought to next year’s events. In that respect, I would love to have some suggestions from you. What would you like to see from your club? At this time, we have a lot of activities going on throughout the year. They are mostly successful while some still need a little tweaking. So please give me your input with suggestions for improvement, more events and activities, or any sort of general comments you may have that might be of use. Please e-mail me at:
Another item I would like to address is the number of people who sign up to go fishing. We seem to have a shortage of anglers signing up. Even though we have about 35 anglers in our membership, only about 5% sign up to go fishing. Of course there can be a lot of reasons (excuses?) for that, such as time conflicts, cost, afraid of getting sea sick, fearful of possible embarrassment around more experienced anglers, anxious around boat facilities, and so on. I am sure there are more and again I would like to hear from you on this. How do you think we can help other members get over the hump of whatever may be keeping them from signing on to go fishing? Really now, I need your help on this.
Much of the above has been addressed in the past in one way or another. Our members that have finally decided to take the leap and to try fishing are having a ball as they have been saying in our Anglers’ Newsletters month after month. The pictures of all of our anglers and their fish say it all!
We have come a long way with our club and with your help, we can make it even better.
Thanks & Good Fishin’ Captain Hal |
