Sue and I are back from our wonderful trip up north. Although we had great weather everywhere we went, it seemed like just after we would leave these various states (such as North Carolina, Virginia, New York or Michigan) they would have a problem with tornados, extreme rains, earthquakes, or even freezing temperatures!
I would like to thank the members that stepped up to the plate to handle the Anglers’ Club events and activities while we were gone. I know how time consuming it can be.
That being said, I have been hard at it from the day we got back. This time of our year there needs to be a lot accomplished, not the least of which is our yearly calendar of events, our membership renewal drive, as well as the planning of our opening season Membership Dinner in November. In addition, we will be finalizing the winners for our yearly tournament while establishing the rules for next year’s tournament. Finally we will prepare our budget and work out where our funds are best spent. We’ll even be working on a lady’s tournament before years end as an added event which should be a hoot.
In closing, I will ask your help in renewing your membership in a timely way for the new season.
It is important to renew prior to November 1
which is the start of our calendar year. After November 1 all of our forms are finalized. Logging in payments after that becomes a lot of work for our membership committee and treasurer whose work should be over on Nov. 1. The more late payments that come in, the more it turns into a bookkeeping nightmare for our volunteers. So please keep that in mind and send in your dues check as soon as you get the email requesting your renewal. That’s the easiest way to renew.
Oh, and by the way, the dues will remain the same as last year.
Thanks for your support and see you at the November dinner.
