The following items form the basis for our 2008 Anglers’ Club Tournament. Your Steering Committee has tried to “tweak” this year’s tournament so that it is even more accessible for everyone…more user friendly and easier in which to participate.

 

Whether you plan to fish a lot or a little (or just eat!), your entry in the tournament supports our Anglers’ Club.  It’s a small price to pay for allowing our strong organization to continue to flourish and to offer members a variety of outstanding activities.  Among other things, we use this entry fee to offer cash and other prizes to winning anglers.

 

1. The entry fee for the entire year will be only $25.  Note that the $5.00 thing is eliminated (You can go fishing anytime and there is no fee to enter your catch each time).

 

2.  Captains can go out to fish any time they want, with any crew they choose. If we send out an invite to other member anglers, those who sign up will not be assigned.  Rather, we will send out the sign up list for the captains to choose from. So far, we have 10 Captains (with boats) who have signed on!

 

3.  Fishing in surf, shoreline, wading, dock, pond, or the like, may also be done at anytime.  Any eligible species caught by these or similar means may be entered in the tournament.  Snook and tarpon, as a for instance, are well known to populate our ponds, even though the ponds are fresh water. 

 

4. Please take pictures of all fish caught.  Forward photos and your catch results to George Greenstein.  He will publish them in the Anglers’ Newsletter as well as log them in for the tournament.  Please do this no matter what the size or where the fish were caught (no charter boat catches allowed) as long as they are one of our targeted species.

 

5.  The winners will be as follows:

Largest fish in a category by length (not pounds).

The most fish caught and entered in each category.

The angler with most categories won will be considered the “Master Angler.”.

 

6.  Everyone will be expected to share in the expenses which will be:

$300.00 for outside fishing divided by all aboard.

$75.00 for inside fishing divided by all aboard.

 

As usual, the “crew” will be expected to help with boat clean-up.

 

Please Note: This is not your anglers clubs dues.  This fee is for the yearly tournament only.  You must be a paid up Club member to sign up for the tournament.
