I‘ve never been sure whether our annual November Dinner/Membership Party is our year’s opening event or our season’s-end activity. In any event, all of us who were in attendance this year had a great time.
Joyce Simpson did yet another fantastic job of arranging our dinner. Many thanks to Joyce and her crew for a great set up.
Also, a special thanks to Dennis and Judy Carrino… for the great steaks they cooked for us. After the day they had getting here, finally arriving at the last minute after dealing with major problems with their fleet of trucks, our steaks were then cooked to perfection. We should all realize that our club buys the steaks. Then Dennis and Judy come in with their crew and equipment and do all the work at no charge. When you see them, please thank them.
A large part of the reason we all enjoyed a great dinner can be credited to the wonderful, gourmet appetizers, side dishes, and desserts brought by all of you…our members! Year after year our members seem to go all out by providing their top quality, specialty dishes, just for this event. It’s no wonder we had a record 85 people sign up to attend this year’s dinner.
Not only did we eat like Kings and Queens, but we spelled out our events for the new season. In addition, we handed out all the awards due from our 2006-2007 tournament. Please note that we receive a lot of support from local businesses. They supply many fine gifts for our auction and tournament. I ask that when you visit them, you make it a point to thank them for their support of the Ballantrae Anglers’ Club.
