Not Bad

Fishing along the Treasure Coast has been pretty decent in most areas. The grass flats north of Jensen Beach continue to hold a mixed bag of trout, snook, jacks, ladyfish, flounder and a few pompano and mackerel mixed in. 3-4 feet seems to be the best depth and the west side along Indian River Drive has been outproducing the east. Mixing it up with live shrimp and an assortment of jigs tipped with a small piece of shrimp. Also trout are hitting soft rubber like doa glow and gulp shrimp.

The Stuart Bridge are has been holding mostly leaping ladys with a few jacks and pompano mixed in. Along the docks and seawalls of Sewells Point plenty of small mangrove snapper and gag grouper to play with but just about all are under size. Also some large jacks over 15 lbs are willing to gulp down any live bait. The St. Lucie Inlet has been hit or miss. We had low pressure the other day and things were really on the slow side. On better days

we have caught a mixed bag of snapper, bonefish, sheepshead, ladyfish, bonnetheads, mackerel and pompano. Most of the pomps have been on late incoming or early outgoing but not the numbers I've been hoping for.

Up the St. Lucie to the dime bridge look for croakers, black drum, snook, mangroves and jacks. Still a few tarpon rolling from Hells Gate to the bridge. The water on most days on late incoming has been green all the way to the dime bridge which is great to see. Thats why we have been seeing several trout in this area with the salinity up a bit. Also in the deeper holes you can find those giant gafftop sailcats which are fun when things get slow. Been slimed lately ??????

Keep on waiting for calmer seas to head down to Pecks Lake for the mackerel run. A couple of days I could have run down but was a little swelly and elected not to. Gotta be careful there and keep your eyes out for those rollers. Would like to see the pompano pick up a tad but all in all fishing has been good.
