Our March Meeting had a very good turn out, probably due to Henry “Snook Nook” Caimotto, who has always been a big draw during his annual visit. He was joined by Capt. Bob and Capt. Scotty Whippen. Henry again updated us on the status of the River Projects, and then led the discussion of our local fishing opportunities, focusing on the how and where to catch Snook and Pompano right off our shores on the Saint Lucie River, and at the Roosevelt Bridge and Port Saint Lucie Blvd. crossings. Capt. Bob discussed some of the subtleties of off-shore fishing, including what to look for and how to circle back to the site of observed activity.
Gerry Stevens awarded the prize for the longest fish (a 26 inch eel) caught during our recent pond fishing events to Judy Carrino (pictured below left). In addition he is pictured below right presenting the cash to our 50-50 winner, Dennis Carrino. It was clearly a family affair this time. |
