referred to them as “Lobster Condos.” After the scoping we fished and then returned home. I slept on John’s Hanna Montana bean bag on the way back. I was beginning to feel like a pervert and would have felt more comfortable with a Heather Locklear bean bag. I asked John to work on this before our next trip. I almost forgot, we caught fish, 17 to be exact, including Horse-Eye Jack, Black Fin Tuna, Snapper and Wahoo. I caught the Wahoo on monofilament leader using cut bait while we were drifting for bait fish. I thought nothing of this until Hal and John informed me that Wahoo easily cut through a monofilament leader and have been known to cut through a steel leader. That’s the benefit of inexperience. I didn’t know what I was doing, and apparently neither did the Wahoo. The seas were calm, the weather was great. We had a great time and I learned lot from Hal and John. I only wish that more anglers signed up. We were ready with two boats and could have handled eight or nine anglers. We’re a fishing club; let’s go fishing. Bill Scalia |
