There has been a lot going on this year including lots of fishing. However this all is being done by just a few of our members. I would sure like to see more of you get out and share in the fun. After all, we are an Anglers’ Club and the more participating in our fishing events, the less it costs for those that do go.
On another note, I have sent out many requests for input from our members regarding how you would like our club to proceed. At one point, I thought that my e-mails weren’t reaching you as I got few responses. However, when I sent something of controversy, like the Penn Florida marina project, I got a 70% response. After four years of being your captain, I am starting to run out of ideas to continue to improve our club and I need your help. So please take a few minutes to answer this request. WHAT THINGS, EVENTS, ACTIVITIES, AND GENERAL DIRECTION WOULD YOU RECOMMEND THAT THE CLUB BE TAKING?
As we have heard, the state has made a deal with big sugar to run the lake’s water south as it did originally. This will clean up our river and put it back as God intended it to be. The state must also do something to clean up the run off of our canals. So if you have a chance to get involved or write letters to our representatives, please do so.
Don’t forget to contact Holly to sign up for our September dinner outing. As in the past I will not be able to attend, as that is the time I go north to visit all the people I want to give a hug.
Thanks and good fishing, Captain Hal |
